Summer so far

We are having a fun and busy summer. In June Mike and I had our ten year anniversary while I was in Park City for my girls weekend. I made him a slide show of our ten years and a cd with our favorite love songs, pretty much a mixed tape and yes I am 12.  Mike got me a beautiful necklace from Tiffany and Co. which had two silver circles at the bottom that are intertwined, very sweet. I love it!
Mike also got me two tin boxes, he said that the 10 year anniversary is the year of tin and so he filled them with flowers and had them on the table when I got home.
I have tried to be organized this summer and keep us busy.  I have a routine the girls do in the morning to get us going. They get ready (hair, teeth and dressed), do some homework and reading and then straighten their rooms, make beds and do one small job around the house. Then each day of the week we do something specific. Mondays (make it Monday) are for a little mom lesson like teaching them how to cook something or how to sort laundry and then we do some kind of craft.  Tuesdays is take a trip day so that could be anything like mountains, the zoo, the library etc.  Wednesday is Wet Wednesday so we do splash parks, swimming, sprinklers etc. Then Thursday is thankful day so we try to do something nice for someone and we usually go to a park.  Friday is find out Friday so we do a quick science experiment  and read a non fiction book. Friday night or Saturday we all watch a movie together. It has been nice to keep us busy and not go crazy!
This is Stein Erickson where we have our annual girls weekend. I get together with two of my college roommates and have a weekend all to ourselves. This year we extended it because Kristin is moving to San Francisco. We went from Friday to Tuesday, it was heavenly.  We sleep in, eat out, take naps, laugh and talk for hours, go shopping and sometimes do crafts. This year we made some jewelry for our girls and ourselves.  I love those girls!

Sophie started beginners gymnastics and loves it!  Kens coach and our babysitter Kassi is her coach and she is so great with her. Sometimes Ken gets to help teach the little kids because Sophs class is at 4 and Ken's doesn't start until 5.  As you can imagine Kennedy LOVES that!
Kennedy got braces a few weeks ago.  Only on her top 6 teeth to straighten them out and fix a gap she had.    I can't believe they put braces on kids that young, or that winy :)
Our friends down the street have a pool which my girls think  is pretty much the coolest thing ever.  The girls have had so much fun swimming with their friends. Finn even had his first dip in the pool a few days ago, he seemed unimpressed.
Our family has been filling up with babies left and right, we were in Utah briefly to drop off our kids before we went on a trip and were able to see many of them. This is a pic of Mike and his brother Ben. Ben is holding Finn and Mike is holding Ben's daughter Sloane.
