1st grade

We really can't believe that the summer is over around here. It went by really fast, and as excited as I thought I was going to be to have kids back in school I am a little sad and bored with Kennedy in school all day long! Sophie doesn't start school for another week and a half so it has been nice to have some alone time with her. Kennedy was so excited to start school. She was thrilled to have a couple of girls from our ward in her class and some kids from her class last year.
She came up with these poses all on her own people. She seems so much older than a first grader. After school the first day she came in the house and asked if she could go to her room and have some alone time because she "had been surrounded by kids all day." News flash: YOU ARE A KID! She makes me laugh every single day..she always has the most hysterical things to say and the funniest observations about life.
She also asked me a few days later if she had to go to school the next day and I said that of course she did and she responded "and the clouds parted and God said, I hate you Kennedy." I about lost it after that one. After we had laughed forever she says to me "good times Mom, good times." I don't know where she gets all this from but I am sure glad we have her around.
Kennedy has started Fall soccer with several of her friends from the ward. She was also asked to be part of a pre competition team in gymnastics. So she now has gymnastics on Monday and Wednesday from 5-7:30. So with Soccer and gymnastics she keeps really busy. We are so proud of her for how hard she has worked.
Sophie started her tap and ballet class again and has really loved it. She starts preschool in a week and a half and then I will have three hours in the morning all to myself. Weird.
Mike is working like a crazy man. Not only does he work at the hospital but he works for 2 dentists and does three out of town jobs quite frequently. We feel blessed that he has the opportunity to make extra money and we have been able to make a big dent in our student loans because of it.
In other news we are preparing to build a house, we are currently looking for land to build on.
