Kindergarten Kennedy

Here is our little gal the very first day of Kindergarten. Notice that she is wearing the same pants in her after picture...just to give you an idea of how much she has grown. She has worked hard this year and been a really good student. She's one of the top readers in her class and always did well on her report cards. We are really proud of her!
We really enjoyed being a part of her year and her class. I was a room mom this year and helped in her classroom and with various parties. It's been fun to see her with the other kids. We've also come and had lunch with her quite a bit. I remember loving that when my mom would come and eat with me. We came so much the kids in Kindergarten all knew who Sophie was. Above is our little bud Harrison from our ward with Kennedy and Sophie. The last time we ate lunch with her we stuck around and played with her at recess. Very entertaining!
Last day of Kindergarten. She was so funny that morning, telling me how she thought she'd be so happy to be done with Kindergarten but it turns out she really liked it and was going to miss seeing her friends all the time. She went on to tell me that she liked her teacher Mrs. Kingman a lot because she was nice but not too nice, she really challenged them. Seriously this all came out of her mouth. I was much more sentimental about the whole thing then I thought I would be. I was a little weepy all day about my little girl growing up.
This is the little caterpillar she made for art, she is shoving a cookie in her mouth.
The kids sang songs for us in their classroom and then we sat down and they showed us what they had worked on all year. It was fun to compare her writing and reading from the beginning of the year to the end. It's so amazing how much they learn and grow that year.
Kennedy, Sophie and I made these little posters for their teachers. Soph's speech therapist cried when I gave it to her. Man we are gonna miss that lady.
The kids did a program for the parents and then demonstrated some of their P.E. skills. They jumped rope forwards and backward. Ken schooled them all. The principal came up to me afterwards and commented on her jumping skills. Ken looked at me and said "well that's what happens when you practice."
