Busy Weekend

The beautiful couple Nate and Amber

What a weekend! We headed out to Utah on Saturday morning bright and early (5 a.m.) for Mike's little brother's wedding. We got there just in time for Kennedy and I to head to the glitter toe party which was a lot of fun!!! Kennedy and I both got some shade of peacock blue which seemed like a good idea until I was sitting in the temple with bright blue toenails looking like a lady of the night but ah well. Then we headed to dinner with some of Mike's family and then I headed to my moms and Mike went to his brothers to play video games til all hours of the night (SO GLAD WE DON'T OWN A GAMING SYSTEM)! The next morning we headed to church where my kids were loud and irreverent as usual and then we had dinner at Mike's moms and then back to my moms for fun with my family. Monday I went to the mall in the morn to get last minute things we needed for the wedding and on my way home I had to empty one of my shopping bags so I could barf in it while driving, good times. After throwing up I felt much better so I headed to my friend Melissa's house to see her brand new baby Connor, who is absolutely beautiful just like the rest of her kids. In the meantime Mike and Ken were at the wedding rehearsal for the ring ceremony then the kids all went swimming with their amazing aunts and uncles and we all met back at Mike's moms for dinner and the men headed off for paintball (the new tradition for bachelor parties) while the women watched the bachelor and chatted. Kennedy pulled out her wiggly tooth that night and she got a little cash from the tooth fairy, her first missing tooth! The next morning we went to the temple for a beautiful ceremony and baked in the sun during pictures. I took the girls home for naps and Mike went to the luncheon at his mom's. We then got ready for the reception/ring ceremony. Ken and Soph were adorable little flower girls in the most beautiful dresses! Amber looked gorgeous and Red Butte was the perfect setting- so pretty! After the ring ceremony we danced and danced and danced until it was dark. My girls were in heaven, twirling around in their dresses. Sophie was glued to the DJ and clapped after every song...she even tried her hand at break dancing and laid down in her beautiful dress trying to spin around on her back thanks to the example of her Dad. Mike was a total spazz and did the worm, the splits and various other embarrassing dance moves. The bride and groom looked so good even after poor Amber was attacked in Walmart the night before her wedding by a woman trying to shoplift. It was such a fun night! The next morning we packed up our car and our friend Shane's truck (with my elliptical FINALLY!) and headed back to Colorado. Mike drove the truck and the girls and I were in our car, they did amazing I was so glad everything went well. We'll have to drive alone one more time at the end of July when we return the truck to Utah and head off for our cruise, I CAN'T WAIT! And so now I need to take a nap for several days because after that trip I am exhausted!

Just reading it makes me tired! I didn't know you were going on a cruise! I LOVED my cruise- I think it's the best way to vacation. I am so happy for you!
