We're In!

I found out today that my name was drawn in the Moab 1/2 marathon drawing. It has become so popular that you register and then they draw the people that can actually run the race. I am in a team with two of my sister in laws (not sure who else ended up in our group) but I am really excited! I am also excited that today was a day off in my training because it has been about 5 degrees all day. Any helpful tips for running in the friggin freezing cold? I have run in the winter but not this cold. I am also a little nervous because I have run 5k's and 10k's but never a half marathon. It should be fun though and it looks beautiful!

Congrats!! That's awesome. I'm training for a half in February. We have run a 5K, 10K, and we're running a 15K in January. As far as the cold goes, I run on a treadmill. It stinks, but it's the only way I can do it. Invest in a good pair of running tights (under armor makes some good ones) and layer, layer, layer. After you get going you can peel layers off. Good luck with your training!

oh that will be so nice. i have done a 1/2 and it was pretty fun. do you have access to a treadmill? otherwise lots of spandex and layers and cover your mouth and nose with a ski mask (not fun). good luck training, it will be beautiful.

Sweet, that's awesome! Which sister in laws are running it with you? That'll be way fun. I kinda like running in the cold I feel like I run faster because I want to get back in so bad. I think you just get used to the cold too. And when you run in the cold you feel pretty hard core too. Good for you Summer. Good Luck

Dammit. I totally missed the boat on this one. :( If anyone on your team drops out--keep me in mind. I would love to do it.

Sorry I've fallen off the earth. I'm slowly but surely working my way out of the darkness. I'll email you today. I've been keeping up on you guys via blog posts. :)
