Pagosa Springs

We had a really fun trip last week as a family. Mike had to work in Pagosa Springs so we decided to tag along with him. He talked and talked about how beautiful it was down there so we figured we had to check it out. The drive was incredibly beautiful and the girls did great. We stayed on a gorgeous ranch with a couple that has opened their garage apartment up to the hospital temps.
The girls were in absolute heaven on the ranch and in this town. There was a hot springs downtown where they could play on the rocks, in the river and find where the hot water was coming down through the rocks. They could have done that all day.
Rob and Judy let the girls roam the ranch and play on everything. They had an adorable little horse swing that the girls really enjoyed and the hammock that they played on all the time but the best part was the horses.

Kennedy and Sophie would look out the window from our apartment and as soon as they saw Rob in the barn they would throw their shoes on and run up there to "help" him. It was so darn cute. He was so sweet to let the girls help him and ask a million questions while he was trying to work.

They loved brushing the horses and could have done it all day.
Rob took a few hours training one of his horses. The horse was jumping barrels and doing various tricks and no matter how many times I asked the girls if they wanted to get lunch they didn't want to leave.
Rob shoes his own horses so we got to watch him do that, which was actually really fascinating. It's really touching how much he loves his horses and good he is with them. The girls kept asking Rob what they could do so as a joke he said they could help him clean up poop and they were jumping for joy. I'm so glad they had that experience they are still talking about it non stop and asking to read as many books about horses as they can.
When we got back I had to go to PTC for Kennedy. She is doing great. Her teacher said she is very bright and that she is in the highest reading group. She has tested really well and I am proud of how well she is doing and how hard she works.
