Traditions

I am thrilled that today is December 1st because we have so much to look forward to this month. Especially since we are trying out a few new traditions to add to what we already do.
1. Decorate the house and tree while listening to Christmas music- check.
2. Wrap 25 Christmas books to read each day while counting down to Christmas-check.

3. Bring out our creepy Elf on the Shelf, oddly named Ricardo by Kennedy, to keep an eye on the kids during the month and report back to Santa- check.
4. Put up advent calendar with activities to do each day along with a scripture story about Jesus to learn about his life and the 12 days of Christmas symbols with scriptures and meanings. (too much? yup probably)- check
5. Make gingerbread houses
6. Decorate Christmas cookies
7. Make a snowman
8. Voorhies Doughnut party
9. Watch the story of Jesus birth, act it out and do felt board story
10. deliver neighbor gifts
11. Nice dinner and game night Christmas Eve
12. Christmas jammies- check
13. Christmas dresses
14. Watch all the Christmas movies and listen to as many Christmas songs as we can handle!
15. Find a Christmas lights drive through and drive to decorated homes
16. Voorhies cousin Christmas book exchange with hot chocolate and reading stories
17. Grandpa Voorhies reads the Christmas story with clam chowder
18. Temple square lights
19. Loosli sibling and cousin gift exchange, grandma sews something fabulous for the grandkids, we do the azimov quizzes and tease each other relentlessly.
20. Visit Santa at the mall or ward Christmas Party.
21. Donate food or gifts to school or ward Sub 4 Santa.

I love all of your list-- it makes me excited-- and makes me want to do something similar. This time of year goes by too fast-- you have to make the most of every minute.

Ricardo? We miss Kennedy! I love the wrapping books idea - we might adopt that. You have lots of good ones. I'm always looking for more holiday ideas I might be able to fit in. Thanks!
