Salida

This weekend we drove out to Salida, Colorado where our friends Justin and Lacey live. They went through school with us so we've known them since we lived in Texas. It was fun to see them and their adorable kids, it's hard to be so far away from them (okay not SO far, it's just a three hour drive). Salida is a beautiful mountain town and is home to all the kayaking, mountain biking and skiing that you can handle. I loved waking up and seeing the gorgeous mountain views and the 20+ deer in their front yard. Below is a picture of a mountain with an "S" on it, Mike and Justin went mountain biking on that mountain, Mike was in heaven! With our winter it has been so long since he has been able to bike that he was as happy as could be to get out.

Salida has a pool that is heated by hot springs, we all had a great time watching the kids play, jump and swim. It helped that the water was 85-90 degrees. Sophie was so mad when she had to get out that she ran out of the dressing room fully dressed and almost jumped right back in.

It was fun to see where our good friends are living and to try out a couple of local restaurants in the adorable little town. We'll have to go back when the weather is nice and we can hike and take a trip down the river...will it ever be warm again????
