Two questions:
1. I usually love to read but can't get into a book lately to save my life. What is your favorite book? I don't really get into mysteries or sci fi. I love books about any older time period, romance or funny books. My favorite book is The Glass Castle.
2. Kennedy's birthday is coming up and I am stumped as to what to get her. She has plenty of toys and they are taking over the playroom. I was thinking of getting her a new bike but I also wanted to get some outside toys/activities. Any ideas? What do your kids love to play with outside? Also any favorite children's books or movie suggestions would be helpful too!

1- Have you ever read anything by Anita Stansfield? I love her books. I think you would like those but especially Gable Faces East and it's sequel Gables Against the Sky.
2- What about a kiddie pool for summer time
I also love to read, I really liked "The Blue Bottle Club" by Penelope J. Stokes and "Sea Glass" but I don't remember the author. As far as good kids outside toys, sidewalk chalk is always good and cheap or if you want to get more pricy, a sandbox is always fun. My parents have one and all the grandkids love it. Or there are fun water games or a slip and slide. Just a few ideas.
follow the river by james alexander thom and midwives by chris bohjalian
The sprinklers that attach to the hose and spin are a huge hit, and are perfect for these small yards. Target usually has them in cute characters! I also always stalk up on chalk and bubbles for the summer! :)
I have nothing. I am not much of a reader. Sorry!
As for the gifts. We just faced the same problem. He is just as happy with the bottle of chocolate milk he got as he is the the toys.
Check out my goodreads list - I've got lots of good books listed there.
As for the party - we went to the local bounce house. It was just $5/kid - parents were free. We had everyone meet us there and played for awhile and then came to our house for pizza, cakes, and presents. The kids had a great time and it really didn't involve any work on my part.
I think some of the parents had as much fun, if not more, than the kisd.
I am all about the bikes as you know:).
My latest favorite books are the series I mentioned on my blog...by Nancy E. Turner. Love them.
