Kennedy's Birthday Party was a lot of fun. The forecast called for 80 degree weather but it was cold and rainy so all my outdoor/waterballoon activities and horse shoes were squelched but we improvised and made do. The kids colored pony pictures while we waited for everyone to come and then we started with "Pin the Sun on Sunny Days". The kids loved it so much they all wanted a second turn.

We then moved into Kennedy's room to play "Horse, Horse, Pony" my last minute spin on duck duck goose. They loved the cowboy hat and didn't quite grasp the concept of chasing eachother but they laughed regardless.

We moved on to play in their My Little Pony look and find books that were part of their gift bag and they loved finding the hidden pictures. The kids all sang to Ken and she blew out her big #3 candle. The kids plowed through the cake while watching a My Little Pony cartoon about Pinkie Pies birthday party, even the little boys were mesmerized. When Ken started opening presents that was when the tears started to flow. Three year olds didn't grasp that the present they brought was actually for Kennedy and not for them. Oh the drama that caused.

Like any other get together with girls, they all ended up in her room playing dress up. Ken was a bit miffed that people were wearing her "fancy" clothes and shoes but she got over it. The boys struggled to find something that they could play with but soon found a bat and some balls and were pretty happy with that. The girls just ignored them.

The big winner of the presents was from Kate, the make-up kit. Ken asked for it the minute the kids left and spent a good 45 minutes in her room putting it on. What a little girl she is!
I have to say I am so glad the birthday hoopla is over! Kennedy has had a little too much spoilage for a year or so. Anything else that shows up in the mail will have to be for when little sister shows up and Kennedy is feeling especially dejected and ingored! This only child is in for a rude awakening. Just so I don't forget, her birthday party guests were Madi Hooley, Kate Markham, Dallas Walker (his cousin Aubrin) and Mark Christofferson. Her friends London and Ella were out of town.

Way cute b-day party. I know what you mean about glad it being over. I felt the same way. Tons of work and so unpredictable. They gift giving at Tay's was also traumatic. Too funny.
