Home at last

Mike has been in Louisiana for the past month and we are beyond thrilled to have him back! The girls and I were home for three weeks and visited Utah for a week. We had a great time with family and friends. Mike doesn't have any more clinicals out of state and it's a good thing too because I don't think the girls and I would have made it, I was hangin on by a thread that last week as it was. My pictures are all mixed up but this is what we did to keep ourselves busy. Having a yummy snack at Gardner Village while we went from place to place checking out furniture with Grandma Colleen.
Visited the Denver Aquarium and continually reassured Kennedy that none of the animals were going to eat Sophie so it was okay if she was close to the glass.

The girls "helped" Grandma with her gardening, picking tomatoes and watering. I helped eat her delicious tomatoes (my favorite time of the year).

We were suppose to see Mike when we got back from Utah but he surprised me for my birthday and drove 9 hours to Utah to see us! It was the best. As we got to his mom's house for Sunday dinner the whole family sang to me and then he walked out from one of the back bedrooms. He got the girls LSU football jerseys and Kennedy got a LSU cheer outfit which she wore for the next few days. Doesn't Sophie look thrilled?

My flight home was really the icing on the cake for an exhausted mom. Mike drove home so I traveled with the girls and it was our worst flight EVER! We were in a tiny claustrophobic plane and as I was walking down the isle I smacked some lady in the face with my bag and we just happened to sit right behind her. Sophie kicked the back of her chair the whole time and/or screamed or fought to get out of my arms for the entire flight. Then as we were sitting there I felt a warm sensation on my leg and realized that her diaper had leaked and my whole lap was wet, I then tried to change her diaper in the bathroom and boy was that an adventure! The rest of the time Sophie chucked everything I handed her including crackers, her sippy cup, my glasses..you name it. Luckily Kennedy slept the entire flight or I don't know what I would have done.

Yay! you're "back"! I am so impressed that you survived not only the forever long rotation as a single mom- but the flight home. I think that is one of the worst parts of living away from family is the traveling.

Your girls are getting so big, they are so cute! :) Sounds like a lot of fun. I bet you are glad to have Mike back.
